CMO: Center for Missionary Orientation

Welcome to the Assemblies of God Center for Missionary Orientation! Whether you are engaged in AG Missions as a Missionary Associate (MA), a Career Missionary, or a MAPS worker you will find numerous resources here able to help you navigate through the waters of missionary life.

Mission

CMO resources are offered as interactive tutorials covering the same topics (and more) you experience during your Pre-Field Orientation (PFO). You will find these tutorials helpful once you arrive (or return) to your mission field, especially since it might be one or more years since you last attended a particular session... such as how to read your monthly statements.

The Center for Missionary Orientation exists to:

  • Provide training and resources for missionaries unable to attend PFO.
  • Supplement annual orientation sessions by providing self-study material available for further review.
  • Provide tutorials for reviewing session content when applying information previously learned during PFO.
  • Provide supplemental resources for assisting missionaries with additional and miscellaneous training as needed.

Tutorial content will be categorized according to the following sections: Finances, Traveling, Support Raising, Missionary Life: Personal, Missionary Life: Ministry, Missionary Life: Family, Missionary Life: On Field. To see brief descriptions of all sections and the courses associated with them, click on your missionary appointment category below.

Getting Started

Once you enroll in your courses, simply access them in the drop down menu (which says "Select a Course") in the top left of the screen. After clicking on the course you will be sent to the course home page where you will begin with lesson one. Follow the navigation links throughout and complete the course by taking the Final Exam. You can test your knowledge at the end of each unit by taking the Unit Progress Evaluation (UPE). After completing the Final Exam you will continue to have access to the course for future use.

Finally, if you have any questions about the use of the CMO, feel free to contact Janice Brison at the Personnel and Member Care division of AGWM.

God bless you!
